Volunteering Changes Everyone!

My brother and I decided to spend our summer volunteering. Opportunities were scare and limited, but we wanted to find a local organization to support. Luckily, we discovered St. Joseph’s Family Center.

The warmth and kindness of St. Joseph’s staff made me feel comfortable right from the start. My work felt important, and it was easy to see the connection that the staff had with each other, and those they serve.

The many hours worked felt like a bonding experience. I felt comfortable sharing many parts of my life with these people, whom I grew to care and genuinely trust. I saw first-hand how the services of St. Joseph’s Family Center can contribute to the community as whole, and was amazed by their tireless dedication.

They say change can only be made one person at a time – this experience changed me. I know more about the needs of our community and how I can make a difference.

“So many times you feel helpless on what to do to help others, volunteering and donating to SJFC makes me feel less helpless and that I am making a difference in someone else’s life.”~ Cindy
