Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing (HPRP)

The purpose of this program is to help those individuals and families who would be homeless but for this assistance and who can be reasonably expected to maintain stable housing once the assistance ends.

Funding to support these services will come from the Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP), which was created by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (2009) and allocated to the County of Santa Clara and State of California by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

This is not an entitlement program. In order to qualify, you must meet the following qualifications.

Key Terms and Conditions:

  • Have an initial consultation with a case manager or other representative who can determine the appropriate type of assistance.
  • Have income that is at or below 50% of Area Median Income (AMI).
  • Be homeless (according to HUD’s definition) or,
  • Be at-risk of losing housing and lacking subsequent housing options and financial resources needed to obtain immediate housing or remain in existing housing.
  • Participate in a Self-Sufficiency Matrix intake, which will help determine if you can qualify.
